Children of the World winners
1st Place - Outstanding Achievement Title: A child’s game in Uganda The Nile River lakes, streams and channels have allowed for relative prosperity of local people. The addition of modern infrastructure – bridges, roads, railroads and such – provide new challenges for competitive boys as well as for traditional, formerly isolated communities. This photograph was taken on a documentary expedition for No Water No Life to the Nile River Basin to study the watershed’s ecosystems, threats to quality, availability and usage of its water supply and management of this precious natural resource.

Honorable Mention Title: Enal with pet shark Whilst few young children are now born on boats, the ocean is still very much their playground and whilst they are getting conflicted messages from their communities, who simultaneously refrain from spitting in the ocean whislt continuing to dynamite its reefs, I still believe they could play a crucial role in the development of western marine conservation practices. Here Enal plays with his pet shark, Wangi Wangi, Indonesia
